FAQ
What do the numbers mean for each dive?
Dive numbers use a 3-4 digit code to identify the dive group (direction), somersaults, twists, and body position.
- First Digit (Dive Group): Defines the takeoff direction:
- 1: Forward
- 2: Backward
- 3: Reverse (faces water, rotates backward)
- 4: Inward (back to water, rotates forward)
- 5: Twisting
- Second Digit (Flying/Direction):
- Usually 0 for normal dives
- For twisting dives (starting with 5), this indicates direction (1=Forward, 2=Back, 3=Reverse, 4=Inward).
- Third Digit (Somersaults): Number of half-somersaults (e.g., flips, flips).
- Fourth Digit (Twists - if applicable): Indicates the number of half-twists
101 is front dive, 204 is a back 2 somersault, 5221 is a back dive full twist
